NEAT is proud to announce that from May 4 – 8, 2020 we are taking Energy Explorers, a conference aimed at increasing energy literacy for students in grades 5 – 8, on the road! Thanks to our generous sponsors and a few of our amazing presenters, NEAT will be visiting Terrace, Smithers and Prince Rupert.

This will be an abbreviated version of the 2 day conference held in the Peace River Region in October and will will offer students in the “Western Belt” a look at energy; where it comes from, how it gets to our homes, how we use it and how to conserve it. We are happy to say that we will still be bringing together leaders in the field to host fun, hands-on, interactive sessions that will help us, the average consumer, develop a greater understanding of what it takes to power our lives.

We have 5 presentations lined up from energy industry leaders: Pacific Northern Gas (PNG), Peace Energy Cooperative, NEAT, Canadian Geographic and the Mobile Escape Room.  These presentations include CanGeo’s amazing energy map (Sponsored by Encana) , PNG’s energy conservation program, a lesson on Solar Power, and creative thinking projects. In Prince Rupert we will be joined by Pembina who will be bringing an exciting interactive model of a pipeline with a focus on safety.

Hours of operation are 9:30am to 11:30am  and 12:30 pm to 2:30pm.
Space is limited to 6 classes per 2-hour session, so register soon!

Sessions on May 4 in Smithers will be held at the Prestige Hotel.

Sessions on May 6 in Terrace will be held at the City SportsPlex.

Sessions on May 8 in Prince Rupert will be held at the Highliner Plaza Hotel.
